We were in Portsmouth and Norfolk, VA for about 10 days. We took a lot of time to explore the great historic cities, and enjoyed the beautiful Virginia Beach. The beach front here has been cleaned up and renovated with restaurants and shops.

The Carols' left us and our friends, Jerry and Cristina Kemper joined us. We have really enjoyed having friends and family aboard with us.

We boarded Jerry and Cristina and started the journey to Washington DC. We went up the James River to Williamsburg, temperatures in the 100's, but we survived. The facilities at the Kingsmill Marina and Resort were georgeous. They had shuttles for us to all their facilities, including golf, pool, tennis, and the Williamsburg village. This was a real highlight in our travels. We spent a few days there, then out to the Chesapeake, an overnight stop at Cape Charles, then on to the Potomac. This was an exciting leg, never dreamed we would sail the Potomac, or even the Chesapeake. We anchored at a delightful spot on the Potomac, in a little area called Long Cove. Nice time to have a sip of wine and play some cards.
