July 2007

We are back in/or should I say on the Loop. We got back on the boat July 20th after a month at home. Was good to finally be able to travel on water again. The Lucky Star is running great, and we have a new "stern thruster" that lets us move into the tighter spaces with greater ease. This new addition really helps Bob maneuver with wind and currents, that were much more difficult to handle before.
I put the map of the Loop here, again, to show where we now are. We have crossed Lake Ontario, and are in the Trent-Severn Canal, this waterway connects Lake Ontario to Lake Huron at Georgian Bay. We are really enjoying all the Canadian hospitality and beauty.

Lock and drawbridge on the Oswego Canal, and the entrance to Lake Ontario from Oswego NY.

Bob relaxing after crossing Lake Ontario at Confederation Marina in Kingston Ontario. This is a beautiful town at the southern end of the St. Lawrence River and our Canadian port of entry.

The entrance to the Trent Severn Canal. This waterway winds 250 miles and 45 locks between Lake Ontario and Lake Huron at the Georgian Bay. This is lock 11 and 12 on the Trent Severn, a double lock, each raising us 24 feet.
