Bye-Bye New York City. We now head up the Hudson River. Rob went with us the first day as far as Newburgh. There is a ferry ride across the river to a NY Modern Art Museum at Beacon NY that he wanted to take us to. The museum is housed in an old paper carton factory, huge buildings to hole huge works of modern art. This was very interesting. We had a nice dinner with him at our marina. Rob took the comuter train back to NYC the next morning.
This is such an interesting area, just past the George Washington Bridge, the river area becomes very quiet and secluded. The countryside is almost rural, with beautiful homes, but very few within view.

As we made our way up the Hudon, we passed some of the most unique lighthouses. They looked like victorian style houses, each one was representative of the town near by.

Greg and Sherri Dunn were bicycling the Erie Canal path, so they found us docked at a funky marina along the Hudson and joined us for dinner one night. Was so good to see friends from home, we have been gone since July.

This is Albany, NY, a pretty city from the waterway.
