The Erie Canal, a left (port side) turn.

Well this is the last leg of the loop for 2006. We have gone 3130 miles on the Lucky Star since we set out from Houston.
We entered the Erie Canal, we will go through 22 locks that will lift us more that 500 feet as we move from the Hudson River to the Great Lakes. These are some views from inside a lock, going up or down, and then heading up the pretty canalways.
We spent two days at Sylvan Beach, an old tourist town on Lake Oneida. Unfortunately, all closed up during the off season.

This, Winter Harbor Marina, will be the home of the Lucky Star for the winter. These are huge, heated, storage buildings for small to large water craft.

Good bye to the Lucky Star for 2006, see you next year!!
